A trilingual honey shop built around one mountain and its altitudes
A hand-written static site for a family of beekeepers in its third generation: three honeys from three altitudes, comb honey and propolis, and orders that go out to the beekeeper by email on their own.
radonjicmed.com belongs to a family now in its third generation of beekeepers and its forty-sixth harvest, with about two hundred hives. The one thing that makes their honey different is altitude: the hives migrate between three stations, from the home apiary in Vlasotince, through Svođe at around five hundred metres where the acacia blooms in May and the honeydew runs in July, up to Čemernik at 1,200 metres where the high-mountain vlasinski honey is made. We built the whole site around that fact instead of hiding it behind a generic shop layout: the mountain is drawn as an SVG ridge with its flowering zones at their real altitudes, and a drag interaction walks the visitor up the slope to watch the pasture change.
Every product has its own page built from one pasture and one flowering — acacia, forest honeydew and the high-mountain honey, plus comb honey and propolis — so a customer reads the difference before choosing. The cart counts towards free delivery past a threshold, the courier is paid on pickup, and an order placed on the site reaches the beekeeper by email on its own, with Viber and a phone call as the backup channels. A gift builder lets someone pick one to three things from the whole offer, and dedicated city pages answer delivery questions for Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš.
The site is hand-written static HTML with no CMS, so it loads instantly and there is nothing to keep patched: Lighthouse scores it 97 on mobile with a full hundred for accessibility. It runs fully in Serbian, Russian and English, about thirty pages in each language, and the language switch keeps you on the same page instead of dropping you back on the home page. Every photograph comes from the family itself. On top of that sits the search and AI layer: canonical and hreflang tags, structured data for the business and for every product, a sitemap and an llms.txt, with the prices written into the HTML itself at build time so search engines and AI assistants read them without running a script.
